The Highest and Truest Praise

Silence is the heart of prayer.

Silence is prayer. The spiritual traditions of both East and West teach this, although the western voice has been somewhat blurred for a long time. In the old days we heard “silentium tibi laus” … silence is the highest and truest praise of God. That being so, I think Zazen will eventually find a good home in Christianity. — Elaine MacInnes
